Pronouncing the order at Bhoiwada court, Metropolitan Magistrate P W Deshpande said accused Ganesh Mudhiyar and his wife Sunita were acquitted from all charges levelled against them for assaulting 'demolition' man G R Khairnar as prosecution failed to prove charges during the trial.

Defence advocate Sameer Pradhan said on May 13, 2000, a team of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corportion (BMC), headed by Mr Khairnar had gone to demolish illegal construction off Ranade road in Dadar.

His clients were having business of Idli-Wada on a handcart near the demolition structure. Mr Khairnar had asked them to go away from there on which they had a scuffle and they had allegedly assaulted Khairnar.
