Stage set for Chandrayaan mission: ISRO chief
Visakhapatnam, Aug 23 (UNI) Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman G Madhavan Nair today said the Chandrayaan mission was going on as per schedule.
Talking to mediapersons after delivering the Sir Alladi Krishnasway Aiyer Endowment lecture on Space Technology for National Development at the Andhra University here, he said the first mission would be launched by the end of October this year.
Stating that the Indian space technology was on a par with international technology, Dr Nair said the country was in a position to launch satellites for other countries.
New Generation satellites would be launched by 2010, he said adding that ISRO was promoting science and research programmes in all the educational institutions in the country.
He said funding has been raised for sponsored research projects in all the varsities throughout the country.
