New York, Aug 18 : It seems like James Franco has turned into a method actor, for he sought advice from real-life hookers while researching for his role as a New Orleans prostitute in the Nicolas Cage movie 'Sonny'.
As he started his research, the "Pineapple Express" star was forced to expose himself to establish that he was not an undercover cop.
But when the Los Angeles prostitutes did not give him enough information, Franco went to New Orleans to get advice from the Southern pros.
"There was a strip club on Bourbon Street," the New York Post quoted him as telling GQ magazine.
"There was one they advertise as 'Live Sex Shows' and I went in there and met a male stripper who said he was straight and that he serviced men and women.
"He was the guy I hung out with the most . . . A guy came in and said to my friend, 'Hey, man, I need you for a job right now'," he added.
Franco further revealed that he went along and watched the male hooker at his job.
