BJP welcomes Chiranjeevi's entry into politics

Vijayawada, Aug 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh BJP President Bandaru Dattatreya today welcomed the entry of Telugu matinee idol Chiranjeevi into politics.

Addressing a press conference here, he said Chiranjeevi's party would work against Congress and United National Progress Alliance (UNPA) in the state and that would help the BJP indirectly.

Earlier there were only two main parties, Congress and TDP in the state and now the new party would also join the bandwagon, he added.

However, the BJP would go ahead with its own agenda in the coming Assembly and Lok Saba elections in the state, he said.

The party would hold a 1,000 km ''Sankalp Yatra'' during the second week of September to highlight the state government's failure on various issues, he added.
