Two dead, one injured after falling into tank

Palakkad, Aug 17: Two people were killed and another wounded when they fell into a septic tank while cleaning it at Vallapuzha, near Pattambi in this district on Sunday, Aug 17.

The deceased were identified as Krishnankutty (50) and Chandran (50) hailing from the nearby area.

The accident occurred, when Krishnankutty fell into the pitch of the septic tank while cleaning it, and in an attempt to rescue him, Chandran also fell into it.

However, on seeing them falling into the pitch, the house owner, Haridas, tried to rescue them but in the process he also fell into it.

Later, when local people took them out of the pitch, two of them were dead.

Haridas was admitted to the hospital in an unconscious condition.
