Bangalore, Aug 17 (UNI) Alleged surrender to separatist forces and total failure of governance both at the Centre and in Jammu and Kashmir led to the present crisis in the state, senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Venkaiah Naidu said today.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Naidu alleged that the Central Government should be blamed for the present situation in Jammu and Kashmir, where the separatist forces were allowed to rule the roost.

Denying reports that economic blockade has been imposed by the people of Jammu against upper region in the state, Mr Naidu said the trucks were plying as usual.

Criticising the PDP and Hurriyat outfits for spearheading the agitation in Jammu and Kashmir on the Amarnath Shrine Board land issue, Mr Naidu said it was the PDP Forest Minister, who had moved the resolution for the land allotment.

The PDP, however, was engaged in supporting the Hurriyat Conference by arousing anti-national sentiments in the valley, he added.

Expressing concern that subversive forces, including the ISI were spreading their tentacles across the country, the BJP leader vehemently criticised the Congress allies SP and PDP for supporting organisations such as SIMI and Hurriyat Conference.

''The total surrender of Congress to both SP and Hurriyat Conference has led to the present situation in the country, in which separatist forces were raising their ugly heads'' he added.
