Chhattisgarh govt employees to go on strike
Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Aug 17 (UNI) About 2.5 lakh Chhattisgarh government officers and other employees will be on strike on August 21 in support of a demand for implementing the Sixth Pay Commission's recommendations at state level also.
''If the demand is not met then we will be forced to proceed on an indefinite strike from the last week of this month,'' State Class Three Government Employees Union President P R Yadav told mediapersons here today.
All recognised organisations -- in this state -- of officers and other employees decided on the agitation at a joint front meeting, he said while adding that the employees were demanding implementation of the central payscale with effect from January 1, 2006 and payment of arrears as per the central formula.
