Rs 163 crore released to NE states under SSA
Agartala, Aug 16 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has released Rs 163 crore (25.61 per cent) of the total outlay approved for the fiscal 2008-09 under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) for Northeastern states so far.
Official sources said here today Rs 16,295.04 lakh, including Rs 1,044.62 lakh for Tripura, has been released during the second quarter of the current fiscal out of Rs 1,22,957.212 lakh under the SSA scheme.
The highest amount - Rs 7,225.9 lakh - had already been released to Assam, followed by Arunachal Pradesh (Rs 2,760.88 lakh) and Meghalaya (Rs 2,339.90 lakh) while the lowest amount was released to Sikkim (Rs 259 lakh) and Rs 1,053 lakh to Mizoram.
