Coordination committee of both factions of Hurriyat to meet tomorrow
Pampore, Kashmir, Aug 16 (UNI) The coordination committee of both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference (HC) is meeting tomorrow to decide the future course of action on the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
However, the call to reach the office of the United Nations Military Observers (UNMO) at Sonawar on Monday still stands, Chairman of the breakaway HC Syed Ali Shah Geelani said at a condolence meeting held at Pampore to offer 'fateha' to Peoples League (PL) Chairman Sheikh Abdul Aziz, who was killed in police firing at Baoniyar during the Muzaffarabad March on August 11.
Lakhs of people from all parts of the valley, who had come in trucks, buses and other modes of transportation, attended the meeting.
Mr Geelani said the coordination committee was formed to fight against the state government's order, allotting 800 kanals of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
He said committee members from both the sides would meet tomorrow at an agreed venue to take stock of the prevailing situation, arisen in the wake of economic blockade, attack on Muslims and Gujjars in Jammu, firing on peaceful processionists in the valley.
Mr Geelani said the committee would decide the future course of action.
However, he asked the people to reach UNMO office on Monday and sit on a peaceful dharna there.
He asked the people to follow the programmes of the committee strictly.
