Govt to introduce medical insurance to teachers
Udupi, Aug 14: Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri has said the state government would implement medical insurance scheme to teachers working in the government schools.
Speaking at a conference organised by Head Masters and Principals of government institutions here on Wednesday, Aug 13 he said this was decided after the government received many representations and suggestions from the teachers.
Stressing the need for ensuring quality curriculum in schools, he said it was disturbing that a lesson like +Avva+, based on flesh trade, was included in the text book. This might have a bad effect on young minds, he said.
Necessary changes would be made in the text books in the next academic year, he added.
The government was also planning to change the examination pattern and question papers for 10th standard examination, he said.
