HP increases seats in Krishi Vishwa Vidayalaya
Shimla, Aug 7 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesah State Council of Agriculture, Horticultue and Forestry Education and Research has increased students intake under various undergraduate, postgraduate courses and Ph.D programmes in the constituent colleges of CSK, Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwa Vidayalaya, Palampur.
A spokesman of the state government today said that in a meeting held recently the Council enhanced the students intake from the existing 131 to 215 in the constituent colleges of the Krishi Vishwa Vidayalaya under self financing from this academic session.
He said that 68 per cent seats would be increased in total, which would benefit the students immensely.
He said the state government was focussing upon strengthening the education sector and creating infrastructure in order to compete with international standards.
''Concrete efforts are being made to start vocational courses in educational institutions besides setting up of more universities in government and private sectors,'' he said.
