GPRN/NSCN ''orders'' Conoro to stop Petroleum extraction
Kohima, Aug 06 (UNI) The proscribed GPRN/NSCN today ''ordered'' the Canadian firm Conoro Ltd to stop oil exploration from the Champang oil field in Wokha district within August 20.
The ''order'' issued by the GPRN/NSCN's publicity cell stated, ''All natural resources in Nagaland belong to the Naga people and any exploitation of the people's wealth shall be firmly resisted.
''The company (Conoro Ltd) is told to halt all operations, exploration, extraction of crude oil before August 20, until proper understanding and negotiation is arrived at with the GPRN/NSCN,'' the statement said.
''Failure to heed this notice will be considered defiance and Conoro shall be held solely responsible for any consequence,'' it added.
