Huge cash haul of Rs 9.85 crore seized
Bangalore, Aug 5 (UNI) In a major seizure, police today recovered a huge amount of Rs 9.85 crore, reportedly brought from Mumbai to the city, from a house.
A top police official, who confirmed the seizure, said a house in Benson Town was raided by the police, acting on credible information.
The person who possessed the cash had told the police that it was the proceeds from the sale of his property in the financial capital.
However, he could not support his claims through documents.
The seizure comes in the wake of the serial blasts on July 25 that killed one person and injured seven others.
It was suspected that the cash either belonged to hawala operatives or had some terror connection. A vehicle used to transport the cash had also been seized.
