Sreedharan inspects Metro stations to check cleanliness

New Delhi, Aug 4 (UNI) The Managing Director of Delhi Metro Railway Corporation E Sreedharan today carried out a surprise inspection of capital's Metro stations in order to check their cleanliness level and upkeep.

DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dyal said Mr Sreedharan personally inspected the Central Secretariat, the Rajiv Chowk and Patel Chowk Metro stations to check their cleanliness level.

''It was surprise inspection,'' he said.

On the suggestions given by the DMRC MD during the inspection, Mr Dyal said, ''Mr Sreedharan wanted us to improve the cleanliness of the Metro stations to the possible extent.'' While instructing officials to take strict measures to ensure efficient housekeeping inside and outside the stations, Mr Sreedharan, acknowledged the fact that public cooperation also played an equally important role in helping maintain the cleanliness level at the stations.
