No shortage of fertilizers in East Godavari: Collector

Kakinada, Aug 4 (UNI) East Godavari District Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi today clarified that there was no shortage of fertilizers in the district and adequate stocks were available.

Addressing mediapersons here, he said the supply position of fertilizers was being reviewed daily and action was initiated to set right the situation.

Until July end, 8,880 MTs of DAP and 11,609 MTs of complex fertilizers were received, he said, adding 950 MTs of DAP and 450 MTs of complex fertilizers was readily available with the dealers.

In addition, supply of another 7200 MTs of DAP and 17,000 MTs of complex fertilizers was expected during this month, he said.

Advising the farmers not to be worried about the supply, the Collector said, strict action would be taken against the dealers hoarding the stocks.

He asked farmers to inform the office of the Joint Director of Agriculture to initiate prompt action against hoarders.
