'Box scare' at airport, security personnel unnerved

Chennai, Aug 2 (UNI) For the second successive day, security personnel and members of the bomb disposal sqaud at the airport here went into a tizzy, after they stumbled upon two unclaimed bags, one containing a box and the other a tiffin box this morning.

Airport Security officials were unnerved for the second day when they found an unclaimed bag at the Kamaraj domestic airport and an unclaimed stainless steel tiffin box at the Anna International Airport.

Unwilling to take any chances, they immediately called the bomb disposal squad who were pleasantly surprised when they opened the bag and found a sweet box inside.

They also heaved a sigh of relief when they found that the tiffin box kept in the bag found at the international airport was empty.

Enquiries revealed that the bag belonged to a sweeper, who brought breakfast in the tiffin box. He had left the bag there to go to the bathroom, when the alert security personnel laid their hands on it. They returned the bag to him with a stern warning.
