Hurriyat alleges situation in Jammu communalised

Srinagar, Aug 1 (UNI) The moderate Hurriyat Conference (HC) today alleged the situation in Jammu region was being communalised.

About a dozen leaders of the HC, including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Javid Ahmad Mir addressed Friday congregations and other rallies at different parts of the valley criticising the alleged communalisation of the situation in the Jammu region.

They alleged that traders and drivers from the valley were being targetted in Jammu and their vehicles damaged.

''This is not acceptable to the people of the Kashmir valley,'' they warned.

The Hurriyat leaders said peace in the sub-continent was not possible without the resolution of the Kashmir issue as per the wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials here said there was enough stock of essential commodities for 20 days in the valley.
