CPI(M) criticises Govt for supporting nuke deal
Tiruchirapalli, Jul 31: Communist Party of India(Marxist) CPI(M) Tamil Nadu Secretary N Varadharajan, criticised the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(DMK) Government for supporting the Indo-US nuclear deal.
Mr Varadharajan, while participating in a function on unveiling the portrait of party's former Polit Bureau member P Ramachandran, here on Wednesday, July 30 said, the party would not hesitate to support the DMK Government for its good governance. The party would not, however, hesitate to oppose the Government, if it failed to address grievances of the people,he added.
Mr Varadharajan said CPI(M) would take a stand on the State politics in the ensuing party conference at Pudukkottai. Rajaya Sabha MP T K Rengarajan and Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) National Secretary W R Varadharajan, among others spoke on the occasion and recalled the contribution of Mr Ramachandran for the growth of the party, its trade union movement and also for the welfare of the poor, downtrodden and toiling masses.
