'Alien' creature near New York sends speculators into frenzy

New York, July 31 : Photographs of a dead mysterious "creature" spotted at a Long Island beach near New York has set online speculations working full time.

While an ex-NASA astronaut claimed that the photographs belonged to some alien visiting Earth, the news of the find has got conspiracy theorists excited around the world.

Dubbed the Montauk Monster after the Long Island town where it was found, the creature was even made a part of a secret mutant breeding program undertaken by the US Government.

In fact, The Huffington Post has gone to the extent of dedicating a full blown blog to the creature.

The news was broken by gawker.com, which has explained the phenomenon as a viral marketing stunt for a new US TV cartoon series.
