NACO sanctions centre of excellence in HIV care to Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Jul 30 (UNI) The National Aids Control Organisation (NACO), New Delhi, has sanctioned a ''Centre of excellence in HIV Care'' in Andhra Pradesh under its NACP-III Programme.
Project Director, AP State AIDS Control Society R V Chandravadan informed that the committee formed for establishment of this centre met today and discussed the necessary steps needed for its establishment at Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad.
The Additional Project Director APSACS Dr B Kalidas will be the Convener and Dr V Rajamouli, Joint Director, Dr Satish, Regional Co-Ordinator, Dr Bal Raj, Superintendent of Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad and Prof Dr B Prahallad are the Members of the committee, he added.
He said Andhra Pradesh was one among the seven states ie Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Chandigarh and Tamil Nadu for which the centers are sanctioned.
The centre of excellence was going to be located at Government Gandhi General Hospital, Hyderabad, and will start functioning from October 2008.
