Holiday for Schools two more days due to flood

Madikeri, Karnataka, Jul 30(UNI) Schools at Madikeri will remain closed for two more days due to grim flood situation, according to DDPI Basheer Ahmad.

Schools at Virajpet and Somwarpet will remain closed for one more day, he added.

Flood situation has not improved still at Bhagamandala, Napoklu, Aiyyengeri, Kakkabbe. Small bridges in rural areas were over flowing affecting movement of villagers.

Kutta in South Kodagu received more than seven inches of rainfall yesterday. Talacauvery received 6.49 inches, Bhagamandala received 5.51 inches and Madikeri received 2.88 inches.

Water level at Harangi was 2856.75 feet. Inflow is 11020 cusecs and outflow 700 cusecs.

The DDPI said that Block Education Officers were empowered to declare holidays as and when it is required since heavy raining in Madikeri Taluk.
