Goa constitutes child rights commission
Panaji, Jul 29 (UNI) Goa government has constituted a commission for providing speedy trials in cases related to offence against children, through a notification.
The commission, headed by Ms Sameera Salim Kazi, would provide speedy trial in cases of child rights violation and other matters related to the issue, an official release said today.
The commission, constituted under the provisions of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005 (Central Act), will work in co-ordination with various organisations and institutions engaged in children welfare.
The commission is also expected to conduct camps/training programmes in child rights, care and protection, besides reviewing all cases in various fora, ensuring speedy disposal.
The other members of the commission are Ms Anuradha Sangam Divker, Ms Ezilda Sapeco, Ms Vasanthi Dhenvi, Ms Shubhangi B Kavlekar and Mr Subhash Sirsat.
