SP demands judicial probe against Mayawati

Lucknow, Jul 28 (UNI) The Samajwadi Party today demanded the Centre to set up a high-level judical team to probe the corruption in the Mayawati government and give people respite from the most corrupt government in the country.

The party has also contradicted that it had demanded removal of state governor T V Rajeswar for its past bad experience when Mulayam Singh Yadav was the Chief Minister.

In its political and economic resolution passed in the party's state executive here today, it has demanded from the Centre to set up a three-member Supreme Court judges team to probe into the corruption of the present BSP government in UP.

''The corruption in UP has surpassed all its limits and now a probe should be ordered to detect the unaccounted properties of Ms Mayawati between 2003 and 2008'', the resolution said.

Later, talking to mediapersons, SP general secretary Amar Singh said the new probe is required as the CBI was to file the chargesheet against the CM in an old corruption case, but what will happen about the new corrupt practises.

He also said that his party has ''no ill feeling'' over their past experiences with governor T V Rajeswar and had never demanded his transfer from the state.'' Let him stay and the BSP also feels the same what we experienced'', he said in a lighter mood.

Mr Singh, criticising the Mayawati government, said the criminals who were the reason behind the BSP's coming to power in the state are now sitting on the laps of the government.

''Atiq Ahmed Mukhtar Ansari, D P Yadav, Umkant Yadav were said to be the goons of the Samajwadi Party, but have these criminals turned saints after joining the BSP ?'' he questioned.

Raising the slogan of ''Maya Sharanam Gachami'' as the real mantra for all the criminals of the state, he said now these criminal elements were being dry cleaned overnight to attain sainthood.

Terming the acts of Ms Mayawati as a mockery of morality in politics, he said the dream of the Chief Minister to become the Prime Minister would surpass the sacrifice made by BSP MLA Raju Pal, when his killers Atiq Ahmed would have all the favour of the government.
