New Delhi, Jul 28 (UNI) Delhi High Court today issued notice to the Delhi Government on the petition filed by Adminstrator-General and Official Trustee (AGOT) of the city, seeking permission to take possession of two unclaimed plots at Rajouri Garden, in order to save them from land mafia.

Justice Reva Khetrapal asked the Delhi Government to ensure that the two plots, situated at D-120, D-121 Rajouri Garden, are kept away from the clutches of the land mafia.

Counsel for Delhi Goverment, Avinash Ahlahwat told the court that the plots at the prime location, worth crores of rupees, are lying vacant for past many years. The land mafia is set to grab these plots and even have forged documents for this.

Allegations are that huge amount of loans have been disbursed after mortgaging the forged property papers.

The Court has directed the AGOT to take care of the plots till the title of the property is decided and report back to it by October 17.

The Residents Welfare Association of Rajouri Garden had appealed to the Delhi Government to save the property from the illegal sale and purchase. It is assumed that the owners of the plots had probably migrated to US whereby no claimants of the plots have come forward to take the possesion of the plots.

The residents were apprehensive that the property brokers and the land mafia have sold the plots several times. The AGOT is also apprehensive that the land mafia are all set to grab the plots by paying a nominal amount for properties which is worth crores of rupees.
