Met dept forecasts heavy rains in next 24 hrs
Mumbai, Jul 26 (UNI) Intermittent rains continued to lash the city today and the Metrological department has forecast possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in the next 24 hours in the city and suburbs.
It has also warned fishermen to keep away from the sea, during the next 24 hours, as sea will be rough, with westerly to southwesterly waves. ''Winds will be westerly to southwesterly, with a speed of 45 to 50 Kmph, temporarily reaching 55 Kmph in gust,'' Met sources said.
In the last 24 hrs, till 0830 hrs, the Colaba region had received 133.2 mm rainfall, while Santacruz had received a little less rainfall of 77.4 mm. However, today till 1430 hrs both the regions reported 15.9 mm and 37.3 mm rainfall respectively, according to the sources.
Average temperature was recorded at maximum of 28 degree celsius and minimum of 23 degree celsius, and is expected to remain near the same level for the next 24 hours.
