Malaria claims lives of 5 children in UP

Mainpuri, Jul 26 (UNI) Five children fell prey to Malaria and succumbed late last night in waterlogged Bichvan area here, official sources said today.

The deaths were reported from Jirauli village, where rain water had accumulated in the bigpot holes of the roads giving breeding ground to mosquitoes.

However, inquiry had been intiated into the matter, Chief Medical Officer Gyan Singh said.

Meanwhile, the locals have alleged that administration is not committed to its work and no fogging was done in the region for long, neither potable water been disinfected.
