Surrendered ultra among four killed in Doda

Jammu, Jul 24 (UNI) An ex-militant among four persons, including his wife, daughter and nephew, were killed by militants last night in a remote village of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here today said.

''The militants struck at the house of former militant Ghulam Hassan of Hizbul Mujaheedin (HM) outfit and shot him dead along with his family members in village Bari Manata,'' Hemant Kumar Lohia, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Doda-Ramban range told UNI.

Mr Lohia said the slain former ultra's son, identified as Mohammad Younis got critically injured as he received bullet injury and was being treated in district hospital.

Meanwhile the deceased has been identified as Azima Begum (wife), Rabia Bano (daughter) and Tauseeb Ahmed (nephew). However, security forces have cordoned off the area and intensified the search operations.
