Sultry weather continues in Delhi, mercury rises to 37 Deg C

New Delhi, Jul 24 (UNI) The sultry weather conditions prevailing in Delhi since the last couple of days persisted today with the mercury rising to 37 degrees Celsius.

Though a cool breeze in the morning maintained a cool air in the city, leading to a slight drop in minimum temperature to 27.3 degrees Celsius, appearance of sun in the sky and a sharp rise in humidity to 92 per cent resulted in the maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.

The lull is expected to persist with weathermen forecasting a decrease in rainfall in Northwest India from tomorrow.
