Mah NCC organized rally for Girl Child

Mumbai, July 24 (UNI) Over 1,300 National Cadet Corps (NCC) from the city's schools and colleges today participated in the ''Save the Girl Child'' rally, organized by the Maharashtra NCC Directorate.

The march, which was flagged off from Oval Maidan, was marked by tableaux and street plays to highlight the plight of many of the country's girl children.

SNDT Vice Chancellor Dr Chandra Krishnamurthy was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate, Maharashtra, Brigedier Mahesh Mathur was also present.

The rally culminated at the Cross Maidan, where the rallyists took an oath.
