Consumer forum fines Hyundai Motors dealer Rs 50,000

Jalandhar, Jul 22 (UNI) District Consumer Forum today fined Rs 50,000 to a local Hyundai Motor dealer for not paying any heed to the complaint filled by a car buyer.

Besides the fine, the forum has directed the company to pay car price to the customer and issue a brand new car for free of cost.

Complainant Vishal Vinayak, resident of Industrial area, had filed a complaint in the forum that he had purchased a car 'Electra CRDI' from Goyal Hyundui Motors. The performence of the vehicle was not up to the mark.

He had filed complaint on July one, 2006 and July three 2006 in which he apprised company about the performence of the car. But the company didn't take any concrete steps to solve his problem and then he knocked the door of consumer court.

Acting on the complaint, President of the forum M M Bhalla and Member Surinder Mittal fined the company and directed them to issue a new car to the complainant.
