Minister alleges opposition agenda is to dislodge UPA govt
Hyderabad, Jul 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy today deplored the attitude of the Left and some other opposition parties alleging that they were trying to dislodge the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre on nuclear deal.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the Left parties' agenda was to dislodge the UPA government as they have no other issue at present.
Stating that the nuclear deal was very essential to meet the future energy needs of the country, he said several countries, including Communist nations like China and Russia, had supported India whereas the Left parties in the country were opposing it as they were not for development of the country.
''Weakening the UPA government means weakening the country and the people,'' the Minister said, adding that the UPA should win the trust vote in the interest of the country.
He said the country was facing a severe energy shortage and the consumption of diesel for generators was increasing due to lack of sufficient electricity in the country.
He said all secular parties in the country should support the nuclear deal and vote in favour of trust vote.
