Principal, teacher of MCD school transferred after assault on girl

New Delhi, Jul 18 (UNI) A day after an incident of assault on a girl student at an MCD school in north Delhi, the Corporation today transferred the principal and the teacher of the Nursery class.

''Principal Neelam Kumari and Nursery teacher Daya Rani of the Ashok Vihar school, where the incident took place yesetrday, have been transferred from the school at their own request,'' an MCD spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, Delhi Mayor Aarti Mehra wrote a letter to Delhi police Commissioner Y S Dadhwal expressing concern over the incident and calling for long-term measures to ensure foolproof security and safety of MCD school chindren.

Expressing concern that culprits in the incident had not been nabbed yet, Ms Mehra called upon the Commissioner to immediately arrest them and provide them exemplary punishment as per law.
