Body of a telephone helper recovered in Kashmir

Srinagar Jul 18: Panic gripped the heavily guarded government quarters at Tulsibagh here when body of a telephone helper was seen hanging in his room, official sources said.

They said a 48-year-old Desa Singh, who was working a telephone helper in estates department at civil secretariat, was putting in a quarter at Tulsibagh.

However, when there was no answer to neighbours' calls, police was informed.

Later, Singh's body was found hanging in the room, they said, adding police has registered a case and started proceedings against under section 174 CrPc.

It was however, not immediately known whether Singh had committed suicide or he was hanged to death, sources said.
