TCS jigs up innovative mechanisms to retain talent
Mumbai, July 17 (UNI) Leading software exporter of the country, Tata Consultancy Services has rejigged its Human Resources policies, focusing on retaining high performers through innovative mechanisms.
Company Vice President and Head Global HR Ajoyendra Mukherjee addressing a media roundable on Talent Management at TCS here said with the attrition rate leveling out at around 12.8 per cent, TCS had enhanced focus on job rotations to meet career aspirations of its employees. Besides cross functional exposure, the workforce also has flexibility to work across multiple platforms.
He said, besides differentiated role based compensation, the company also provides focused leadership development for high performers. The cost of training currently worked out to two per cent of the total revenue.
TCS accounts for employing the highest IT worforce in the country at 116,308 (including its subsidiaries). Among them, foreign nationals alone were over 10,000 and 29 per cent were women.
Replying to a question, he said that the company was on course to hire 35,000 people this fiscal and during the first quarter the gross additions were 4,495 trainees and 2,905 experienced professionals. The hiring mix would continue to be loaded in favour of trainees this year.
He said the company had carried out digitalisation process for scalability and global talent management. It also has a technology enabling communication and a collaborative work management.
