Delhi HC allows Pappu Yadav to vote in July 22 Confidence Motion

New Delhi, Jul 17 (UNI) Delhi High Court today granted permission to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, lodged in the Tihar jail, to participate in the voting on the Confidence Motion in the Lok Sabha on July 22.

Justice G S Sistani allowed Yadav to cast his vote during the confidence motion on July 22 for which he will be escorted to Parliament.

Yadav is facing a life term for killing CPI(M) leader Ajit Sarkar in Dhanbad (Jharkhand) a decade ago. He was earlier lodged in Patna jail. However, after allegations of running his illegal operations from the jail, the Supreme Court transferred him to Tihar Jail in 2005.

He contested elections from the jail.
