Raj Assembly adjourns as member falls sick during debate
Jaipur, Jul 16 (UNI) The Rajasthan Assembly was today adjourned for about 30 minutes to provide medical aid to Leader of the Opposition Hema Ram Chaudhary, who suddenly fell sick while initiating a debate on the Rajasthan SC, ST, OBC, Special Backward Class and Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) Reservation Bill.
Mr Chaudhary was making the openning speech dring debate on the Bill being brought to legislate on reservation to higher classes which include Gujjars and poor strata of the unreserved castes.
He abruptly sat down and complained of uneaseness and restlessness.
Speaker Sumitra Singh wanted to know whether he would continue his speech or she should call for another member.
Meanwhile, Congress whip Zuber Khan and member C P Joshi went to Mr Chaudhary and informed the house that he was not feeling well and needed medical assistance.
Mr Joshi suggested that the house might be adjourned for a shortwhile to enable Mr Chaudhary to avail medical aid.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore also echoed the same thought.
The Speaker accepted the suggestion and adjourned the house.
Mr Chaudhary was slow and dull in his speech from the start but made several good points which were admired by the Opposition Benches. However, his slow and dull body language also attracted adverse remarks from the Opposition Benches with even Speaker advising him to be a little fast in making his points.
