Metropolis India launches super speciality research centre

Kolkata, Jul 16 (UNI) Metropolis Health services, the countrys premier corporatised diagnostic chain, formally launched its super speciality research laboratory here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, Metropolis Health services, Dr Sushil Shah said, ''with the commencement of the new laboratory, Metropolis would now provide all high end quality diagnostic facilities to the people in the East and North-East regions.

''This laboratory will carry out over 3600 highly specialised tests under a single roof ranging from Oncology to Genetics, molecular biology and immunoassays using best-of breed and ultramodern diagnostic equipment,'' he added.

''Besides pathological services, we will offer home based health services to our customers,'' he said adding the newly launched super speciality diagnostic centre will be a full fledged lab for clinical trials to promote retrospective researches.

Presently offering home services of pathological nature ''we also strive to provide full range of medical services to our customers thus making Kolkata a major hub for its operations across the Eastern and North-East region,'' he maintaned.

He also claimed that Metropolis is the first multinational lab chain with presence in global market as it has labs in 17 countries including UAE, Sri Lanka, South Africa, USA and Thailand.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Srabani Chakrabarti, Chief of laboratory, Kolkata Metropolis, highlighted the growing trends in healthcare industry with the need of modern equipment in diagnosing the disease.
