K'taka Govt committed to peace, communal harmony

Bangalore, Jul 15 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Information Katta Subramanya Naidu today said the State Government was committed to maintaining peace and communal harmony.

In a statement here, he said the State Government under the leadership of Mr B S Yeddyurappa would safeguard law and order.

The assurance comes in the wake of recent violence at a place of worship at Hebbal in the city.

Mr Naidu and Wakf Minister Mumtaz Ali Khan took part in a peace meeting here where they assured the gathering of taking stringent action against those responsible for creating the unrest.
