JK: 5000 centres set up for Saksharta Abhiyan
Srinagar, Jul 15: To impart functional literacy to neo- literate people in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, it has been decided to set up 5000 centre, official sources said today.
They said the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Budgam today launched the 'Jan Saksharta Abhiyan' in the entire district.
The aim of the scheme is to impart functional literacy to the neo-literate people in the age group of 15 to 35 years.
Sources said to make the scheme a success, about 5000 centres would be established in the district to impart training to 1.25 lakh neo-literates in the district.
A door to door survey to identify the beneficiaries started from today.
