Jubilant Organosys ties up with US firm for drug-discovery

New Delhi, Jul 14 (UNI) Jubilant Organosys Ltd today said its subsidiary, Jubilant Biosys Ltd, has entered into a drug discovery partnership with Amgen Inc, one of the largest US-based biotech company.

Under the partnership, the two firms will collaborate to develop a portfolio of novel drugs in new target areas of interest across multiple therapeutic areas.

Jubilant Organosys said in a statement that its Bangalore-based unit will develop early pre-clinical candidate drugs that will come from Amgen's early discovery work for an initial term of three years.

Amgen will pursue later-stage pre-clinical and clinical development, and commercialisation of the drugs on the global market, it added.

However no financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
