Lefts attitude not tenable on N-Deal: Rosaiah
Vijayawada, July 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister K Rosaiah today said the Left Parties' stand on the Indo-US Nuclear Deal was not tenable as the agreement would not affect the interest of the country.
Talking to newspersons here today, he said the nuclear energy would be the big source of power in the coming days and the agreement would not affect the domestic nuclear technology development programme.
"If we signed the agreement, the country can ensure uninterrupted operations of civilian nuclear reactors from the supply of fuel and nuclear power would be a solution for the country's power shortage.
The Minister said the water levels in reservoirs in the state were going down because there were no timely rains in the state, and due to this, power generation was stopped in hydro power projects.
The state government was spending Rs 10 Crore daily to purchase power from neighbouring states for the benefit of the farming community, he added.
