K'taka Minister donates Rs 50 lakh to Srikalahasti

Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh, July 11 (UNI) Karnataka Minister G Janardhan Reddy, a native of Yerpadu Mandal in Chittor District of Andhra Pradesh, donated Rs 50 lakh to Srikalahasti Temple here today.

Temple sources said the cheque was handed over to Temple Executive Officer Sivaji by the Minister's brother-in-law, Mr Sudhakar Reddy.

The amount was part of the Rs two crore donation Mr Janardhan Reddy announced for the construction of a golden ''Dhwajasthambam'' in the temple.

The balance of Rs 1.50 crore would be paid in the second week of this month.

The Karnataka Government would also donate teakwood for the 'Dhwajasthambam,'' the sources added.
