12,486 Mizo farmers to benefit from FM's loan waiver

Aizawl, Jul 11 (UNI) As many as 12,486 farming families in Mizoram would benefit from the UPA's loan waiver policy for debt-ridden farmers across the state.

In tune with the UPA Government's policy, steps have been taken to write off the loans of Mizoram farmers amounting to a total of Rs 28 crores of agricultural loan, a Congress source here today stated.

The beneficiaries include 5824 families who owe Rs 14 crores to the Mizoram Rural Bank, 4943 families owing Rs 9.08 crores, 1441 families who have to repay Rs 4 crores to the state cooperative apex bank and 277 families owing Rs 89.14 lakhs to MUCO bank.
