PM sanctions ex gratia for families of ITBP men killed in Kabul

New Delhi, Jul 10 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today sanctioned Rs five lakh each for the families of the two Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel killed in the July 7 Kabul blast.

A similar amount has also been sanctioned for the family of Niyamatullah, an Afghan national working as a watchman for the Indian mission in Kabul, who was also killed in the blast.

The ITBP personnel killed are Ajai Pathania and Roop Singh.

The Prime Minister went to the AIIMS this evening to call on the two ITBP personnel injured in the blast. A sum of Rs two lakh each has been sanctioned for them from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.

The Prime Minister will be calling on the families of Brigadier R D Mehta and B V Rao, the defence attache and political counsellor respectively killed in the blast on July 11, the Prime Minister's Office said here.

Financial and other support for the families of Mehta and Mr Rao was being provided by the Government, the PMO added.
