Three members of a family killed in van-lorry collision

Chennai, Jul 8 (UNI) Three members of a family were crushed to death when the Maruti van in which they were travelling collided with a sand-laden lorry on the Coimbatore-Karur Highway near Vellakovil in Erode district of Tamil Nadu early today.

Reports received at the police headquarters here said the deceased were identified as Periasamy (35), Sumathi (28) and Kulandaisamy (55).

The victims sustained serious injuries and bled to death on the spot.

The bodies were taken to the government hospital for post-mortem.
