Rajnath convenes meeting of senior leaders at Advani's residence
New Delhi, Jul 8 (UNI) Close on the heels of Left's decision to withdraw its support to the UPA coalition led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the BJP today called a meeting of senior party leaders at the residence of Leader of the Opposition L K Advani to take stock of the situation.
A decision to this effect was taken by BJP President Rajnath Singh soon after the Left parties announced their withdrawal of support to the four-year-old UPA government.
The party has also echoed the demands of the its leaders Mr Advani and Jaswant Singh calling for PM to seek Vote of Confidence in the House as he did not have a majority once the Left withdrew its support.
These leaders were also of the view that a minority government had no right to execute any 'binding international agreements' on the nation. A session of Parliament has to be called for obtaining its approval first by getting the Vote of Confidence in the Lok Sabha, they had urged.
