Minister lends helping hand in Gomti cleaning drive
Lucknow, July 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) and Irrigation minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui participated in the ongoing Gomti cleaning drive here today.
Lending a helping hand near Gandhi Setu for cleaning the Gomti, Mr Siddiqui said, ''It is our moral responsibility to make the river free of pollution.'' Therefore, every man should make sincere efforts and ensure their contribution towards the cause, he added.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), UP Awaas Vikas Parishad, several non-government and voluntary organisations had stepped forward and launched the river cleaning drive, following the state government's failure in doing so alone.
Till now, many students and professionals have also contributed to the drive.
