3-month-old boy lifted from Pondy hospital

Puducherry, Jul 7: Grand Bazaar police today registered a case and are on the look-out for the culprits who lifted a three-month-old child from the Government Maternity Hospital here.

According to police sources, A Vanitha (35) of Katterikuppam near here came to the hospital this morning along with her son to undergo family planning operation. When she was asked to go for a blood test, she left the baby with a woman who was sitting on the varandah of the hospital.

When Vanitha returned, the woman and the child were missing.

Since, all efforts to trace the child proved futile, Vanitha lodged a complaint with the police.
