Janakiraman urges Govt to take steps on seats in pvt college

Puducherry, Jul 6 (UNI) Puducherry DMK convener and former Chief Minister R V Janakiraman today called upon the Chief Minister and other Ministers to sink their differences and take steps to get the due share of seats for the government in private medical and engineering colleges in the Union Territory.

In a statement here, Mr Janakiraman pointed out that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had obtained 65 per cent seats in that state and the same should be followed here also.

Expressing concern over the delay in the process of admissions to professional colleges here through the Centralized Admission Committee (CENTAC), he urged the government to expedite it.

He also urged the adminstration to increase the number of engineering seats here as in Tamil Nadu to ensure that all the students, who applied for engineering courses here were able to pursue the course.
