RJD to join hands with like-minded party to defeat BJP:Lalu

Bodh Gaya, Jul 4 (UNI) Railway Minister and RJD president Lalu Prasad today announced that his party was prepared to forge alliance with any like-minded political party to defeat the BJP and other communal forces during the next Lok Sabha elections.

Mr Prasad told reporters here that the BJP always tried to extract political mileage by raising the communal issue during the elections and alleged that Lal Krishna Advani was spreading communal virus in the country.

''We will not allow the BJP to play communal cards during the Lok Sabha elections and join hands with any like-minded party to foil its attempt for coming to power by raising the emotional and communal issues during the electoral hustings,'' he said.

''Our party has the duty to caution the people of the country about the inherent dangers from the communal forces like the BJP and take steps for foiling their bid to encash the communal issue during the elections,'' Mr Prasad maintained.

The RJD president said the BJP was again trying to rake up the issues like Ramjanam Bhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute and Common Civil Code as the nex Lok Sabha election was approaching near.

Mr Prasad said during the last four years, the UPA government at the Centre had done commendable works for ameliorating condition of the farmers and minorities.

Loans of about 75,000 farmers had been waived by the UPA government and it had also initiated several steps on the basis of the recommendations of the Sachhar Committee to improve the condition of the Muslim community, he added.

The RJD president also lambasted Nitish Kumar government for its failure to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Bihar and said it was only engaged in making tall claims to lead the masses in the name of development and improving the law and order situation.
